Why Should you use Implant Grade Titanium piercing jewellery?

Why Should you use Implant Grade Titanium piercing jewellery?

Why You Should Use Implant Grade Titanium Jewellery for Your Piercings

If you're considering getting a piercing, it's important to choose the right jewellery. Implant grade titanium is the best option for several reasons.

  • It's biocompatible. This means that it's safe for long-term implantation into the body. Titanium is a naturally occurring metal that is found in the human body. It's also used in medical implants, such as hip replacements and heart valves.
  • It's hypoallergenic. This means that it's less likely to cause allergic reactions. Nickel is a common metal that can cause allergic reactions in some people. Implant grade titanium is nickel-free, so it's a safe choice for people with sensitive skin.
  • It's strong and durable. Titanium is a very strong metal that can withstand the wear and tear of a piercing. It's also resistant to corrosion, so it won't rust or tarnish.

If you're looking for the best possible care for your new piercing, choose implant grade titanium jewellery. It's the safest and most comfortable option for your body.

Here are some additional benefits of using implant grade titanium jewellery:

  • It can help your piercing heal faster. Implant Grade Titanium is a non-reactive metal, which means that it won't irritate your piercing. This can help your piercing heal faster and reduce the risk of infection.
  • It can help prevent scarring. Titanium should be a mirror smooth metal that won't catch on your clothing or hair. This can help prevent scarring around your piercing.
  • It's available in a variety of styles and colours. You can find implant grade titanium jewellery in a variety of styles and colours to match your personal style.

When you're looking for jewellery for your new piercing, be sure to ask your piercer about verified genuine implant grade titanium. It's the best option for your health and safety.

Here are some additional tips for caring for your new piercing:

  • Clean your piercing up to twice a day with a sterile saline solution.
  • Avoid touching your piercing or playing with it.
  • Be careful not to snag your piercing on clothing or hair.
  • Avoid wearing makeup or lotions near your piercing.
  • If you have any concerns about your piercing, be sure to see your piercer.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that your new piercing heals properly and looks its best.

How do I know if my jewellery is implant grade?
Many of the options online (and in many piercing shops) are Steel & Titanium. People may claim this body jewelry is “implant grade”-  but it rarely is.
Many retailers will try to sell you "G23" or "Medical Grade" titanium. This definitely does not make it safe for long-term implantation. Safe titanium is ASTM F-136 or ASTM F-1295 compliant.
Steel jewellery is often described as 316L or 316LVM, but this alone does not assure implant grade! Steel MUST be F-138 grade to ensure it is implant grade.
