Hi there! We receive lots of customer calls and emails about piercings and a common question is about the level of pain. We understand that everyone's experience is different, but we've done our research and put together a list based on customer feedback to give you an idea.
And here's some good news - our pain rating results are lower compared to other shops, as we only use the finest needles and our piercers are highly trained experts.
All of our piercings are over in just a few seconds, so don't let a bit of discomfort hold you back from getting the piercing you really want. Remember, it'll be with you every day, so make sure you choose one you're truly happy with, not just the one you think will be the least painful.
Here's our list of piercings from LEAST painful to MOST painful, based on customer experiences:
Lobes: 1 out of 10
Woo-hoo, let's talk about ear lobe piercings! These bad boys are one of the most popular piercings and they're even available for the young'uns from age 8+ with a parent's consent. And don't worry, the pain level is about as bad as a bee sting, so you'll be able to handle it like a champ!
When it comes to aftercare, ear lobe piercings are a breeze. Just keep them clean with some sterile saline solution and clean non woven gauze (using clean hands, of course) and before you know it, you'll be able to change up your jewellery! The best part? There are a ton of cute earring options to choose from, so you can rock the look that fits your style. Whether you're a piercing virgin or a seasoned pro, ear lobe piercings are a fun and fabulous choice!
Belly button piercing 4 out of 10
Belly button bling, anyone? Navel piercings are always in style and there are so many different bars and jewellery options to choose from.
As for the pain factor, don't worry, it's not too bad. Most people say it feels like a little bee sting and while it heals, you might experience some discomfort and soreness.
When it comes to healing, it's important to keep your navel piercing clean. Our trained piercers will give you specific instructions, but it usually involves cleaning with sterile saline at least once a day. Also, make sure to wear loose clothing and protect your piercing from being knocked or banged.
Just remember, no changing your jewellery until it's fully healed (which can take up to 12 months) and avoid any ab exercises that could cause trauma to your piercing. Now go ahead and show off that cute belly button bling!

- Vertical Labret: a popular choice, this labret piercing is located on the middle bottom lip, without entering the mouth.
- Shark Bites: the double snake bites piercing, made on the lower lip with four perforations. Ideal for labret bars or hoop piercing jewellery.
- Dahlia Bites: the rarest of lip piercings, located in the corners of the mouth, also known as the 'Joker Piercing'.
- Monroe Piercing: a piercing on the upper lip, usually on the left side, to resemble Marilyn Monroe's iconic beauty spot.

- Angel Bites: located on either side of the philtrum, also known as 'Crayfish Piercings' or 'Reverse Snake Bites'.
- Cyber Bites: a combination of a philtrum piercing and a lower-lip labret piercing made to look symmetrical for a mirrored effect.
Bridge Piercing aka Earl piercing: 4 - 10

Not only does it make a bold statement, but it's also quick and virtually painless to get done. Pierced with a straight barbell it has a wide range of different attachments that you are sure to love! We just know with the right jewellery you'll love the look of this piercing just as much as the ease of getting it. So why wait? Book a bridge piercing today!
Nose or Nostril Piercings: 5 - 10
There are several types of nostril piercings available, each offering a unique appearance and style. The most popular type is the simple nostril piercing, typically located on the side of the nostril and pierced with a small gauge nostril stud or ring. Other popular nose piercings include the high nostril piercing, septum piercing, and bridge piercing.
Daith - pronounced 'Doth': 5 - 10
A daith piercing is performed inside the 'shell' of the ear. Although it may be slightly more painful to get, these are one of the easiest ear cartilage piercings to heal as they are protected and out of the way from general knocks and bumps, unlike helix piercings for example. Daiths are the perfect way to complete a curation or include some big, bold jewellery! With proper care, your daith piercing will heal beautifully and you will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
Tragus Piercing: 6 - 10
A tragus piercing is on the small flap of cartilage on your ear, almost extending off the side of your face. The piercing is at most a mild sting, but this location is ideal for smaller, daintier pieces of jewellery and act as that finishing touch for your ear project.
